We are back looking at the daily workout schedule from around the country. Every day (Some days?), we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country.  We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers.  Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know.  Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.

We are back…Take a look:

  1. Bhoma, a 3YO daughter of Bernardini and trained by Ken McPeek, worked at Gulfstream Park this morning. This one has hit the board in 4 of 5 lifetime starts to date. The only miss was a disappointing 9th in the G2 Jessamine Stakes at KEE last October. Went 4 furlongs over the dirt track in :48.21. That was 6th best out of 37 to clock the distance. May be ready to try Stakes company again soon. Last out was a win at Churchill Downs in allowance company on Nov. 27.
  2. Sandstone, a 3YO daughter of Street Sense and another trained by McPeek, worked at Gulfstream Park this morning, too. Went 4 furlongs in :48.21, as well. This gal ran 3rd to Dream Lith in the G2 Golden Rod at Churchill Downs last November to finish up the year. Won the Rags to Riches Stakes under the Twin Spires before that. Connections spent $165,000 for this one at the 2020 KEE September Yearling Sale. Keep an eye out here.
  3. Tax, now a 6YO gelding by Arch and trained by Danny Gargan, is on the comeback trail. Has not run since he was 10th in the 2021 version of the G1 Pegasus World Cup — over a year ago now. But, before that debacle, Tax won the G3 Harlan’s Holiday Stakes and won the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes way back in July of 2019. Went 3 furlongs today at the Palm Meadows Training Center in South Florida. Covered the distance in :39.20 in the first published move in some time.
  4. Oneparticularharbor, a 3YO son of Majestic Harbor and owned by a team of chaps led by Kentucky Speaker David Osborne, worked at Santa Anita this morning. The homebred — fresh off an impressive MSW win here last time out — went 4 furlongs win :50.20 for trainer Sean McCarthy. That was the 33rd best time out of 44. But fun to see this bunch of “Parrot Heads” do well with this one.
  5. Armagnac, a 3YO son of Quality Road and one of many trained by the embattled Bob Baffert, worked at Santa Anita this morning, as well. This one went 5 furlongs in 1:01.60. That was the 8th best time out of 36 to clock the distance. Broke the MSW last time out. Ran off to an easy win as the odds-on favorite in that 11/16-mile event over the main track. Has the pedigree to do more.
