We are back looking at the daily workout schedule from around the country. Every day (Some days?), we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country.  We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers.  Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know.  Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.

We are back…Take a look:

  1. Sea Level, a 3YO daughter of Exaggerator and trained by Brad Cox, worked at Keeneland this morning and just ahead of the incoming ice storm expected to hit the Commonwealth. This bay filly — who ran 2nd in the My Trusty Cat Stakes at Delta Downs in her last start on Nov. 19 — went 4 furlongs over the all-weather training track in :49.60. That was the 2nd best time out of 3 to clock the distance this morning. This homebred has now raced three times in the career. Has 2 wins — including a win in the E.L. Gaylord Memorial Stakes at Remington Park last September — and a 2nd. Today’s work was the 4th published move since being returned to serious training on Jan. 7. Look for more out of this one soon.
  2. Provocateur, a 3YO son of Into Mischief and trained by Todd Pletcher, worked at the Palm Beach Downs Training Center in South Florida this morning. Went 4 furlongs in :49.72. That was the bullet move out of 2 to go that distance. In 4 career starts now, this one has a win and a second. Just ran 2nd in the Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs last time out, after breaking the MSW on Dec. 23. Connections paid $600,000 for this one. Much is expected.
  3. Kimari, a 5YO mare by Munnings and trained by Wesley Ward, is back on the work tab today. This Graded Stakes winner — who ran 7th in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint last time out after winning the G1 Madison Stakes at KEE last October — went 5 furlongs at the Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida. Covered the ground in 1:01.85, which was the 4th best time out of 8. It was her first move over the dirt and second breezed since Jan. 28. Still aways to go before she sees the starting gate. But one talented gal. In 11 career starts to date, this one has a 6-2-1 record and has earned over $768,000 in purses.
  4. Lady T, a 3YO daughter of Into Mischief and trained by John Shirreffs, worked at Santa Anita this morn. This one — who is still a maiden despite having run 2nd & 4th in two Stakes already — went 5 furlongs in 1:00.20. That was the bullet move out of 26 to go the distance today. Last time out, Lady T ran 4th in the Desi Arnaz Stakes at Del Mar last November. Ran behind Eda in that event. This was the 5th published work since Dec. 11. Looks like she may be getting closer to a race.
