Every day, we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country.  We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers.  Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know.  Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.

  1. Comical, a 3YO daughter of Into Mischief and trained by Steve Asmussen for the ownership team led by WinStar Farm, worked at Churchill Downs this morning. The filly — a contender for this year’s KY Oaks — went 3 furlongs in an easy :38.40. That was the 6th best time out of 12 to negotiate the distance. Since running 7th in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita last November, this talented gal has returned in 2020 to run 4th in the Suncoast Stakes at Tampa Bay, and, most recently, 2nd in the Gardenia Stakes at Oaklawn Park. Look for a race coming up soon.
  2. Juliet Foxtrot, a 5YO daughter of Dansili and a Graded Stakes winner in the barn of trainer Brad Cox, worked under the Twin Spires this morning, as well. This gal — who won the G3 Modesty Handicap last July at Arington Park and has since run 2nd in both the G2 John C. Mabee Stakes at Del Mar and the G1 First Lady Stakes at Keeneland; and most recently was 6th in the G3 Old Forester Mint Julep at Churchill Downs in the 2020 debut — went a half mile in :49 flat. The was the 8th best time out of 21 to go that distance. Look for more in the 2nd start off the layup for a top notch barn operation
