We are back looking at the daily workout schedule from around the country. Every day (Some days?), we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country.  We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers.  Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know.  Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.

We are back…Take a look:

  1. Shoplifter, a 2YO daughter of Super Saver and trained by Eddie Kenneally, worked at Churchill Downs this morning in one of her final preps for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. This gal — who ran a solid 2nd in the G3 Pocahontas Stakes — breezed a half-mile in :49 flat. That was the 15th best time out of 34 to go that far. This is the 2nd published work for the April foal since the Stakes run. In 4 career starts now, she has a 1-2-0 record and has earned over $131,510. This one bears watching. Lost all chance at the start, and along the rail, in the Runhappy Ellis Park Debutante on Aug. 14.
  2. Sixtythreecaliber, a 3YO Gun Runner filly trained by Tom Amoss, worked at Churchill Downs this morning, as well. This one just captured the Seneca Overnight Stakes at Churchill Downs, beating the likes of the highly regarded Falconet, Tunerloose, and Cocktail Moments. Went 4 furlongs in :48.40. That was 10th best of 34. Be interesting to see where this gal shows up next. Daughter of Gun Runner. Stakes winner. Four wins in 6 starts. Cha. Ching. Not bad for a yearling who sold for $250,000 at the KEE September Yearling Sale in 2020.
  3. Campanelle, a classy 4YO daughter of Kodiac and trained by Wesley Ward, worked at Keeneland this morning. This Graded Stakes winner — who won the G3 Mint Ladies Stakes at KY Downs on Sept. 10 — went 5 furlongs over the lush Keeneland turf course in 1:03.20. That was the 2nd best time out of 4 to go over the sod today. In 10 career starts, this gal now has 6 wins. She is 2 for 3 this year, alone. Ran 3rd in the 2021 version of the G3 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes here. Be interesting if she hits the Stakes circuit in Lex before the end of the meet.
  4. Love Reigns, who was scratched out of the Stakes event this past weekend after being made the ML favorite by trainer Wesley Ward, worked over the Keeneland grass this morning. This one went 5 furlongs over the sod in a pedestrian-like 1:04.20. That was the 4th best time out of 4 to go the distance. Interesting. In 3 starts this year, the 2YO daughter of U S Navy Flag has won twice — including the Bolton Landing Stakes at Saratoga last time out. Be interesting to see if this one can make the Breeders’ Cup now, or not.
