We are back looking at the daily workout schedule from around the country. Every day (Some days?), we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country.  We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers.  Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know.  Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.

We are back…Take a look:

  1. Carotari, a 5YO gelded son of Artie Schiller and most recently a game 2nd in the G3 Troy Stakes at Saratoga for trainer Brian Lynch, worked at Churchill Downs today. He breezed 4 furlongs over the main dirt track in :47.20, which was the bullet move out of 44 to clock the distance. In 21 lifetime starts to date, this one has a mark of 6-6-3 and has earned nearly $500,000 in purses. Not bad for a horse that sold for a mere $6,000 as a yearling in 2017.
  2. Condemn, a 2YO son of Madaglia d’Oro and trained by Tommy Drury, breezed at Churchill Downs on Tuesday morning, as well. This homebred for the famed duo of Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider went 5 furlongs in a brisk 1:00.20. That was the 4th best time out of 14 to go that far. Last time out, this one ran a very nice 2nd to Texas Red Hot at Ellis Park. Was beaten just a head. Look for more out of this one. Good things to come. Soon.
  3. Special Reserve, a 5YO gelded son of Midshipman and trained by Mike Maker, breezed at the Churchill Downs’ training center at the Spectrum early Tuesday. This one — who was 2nd in the G1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Stakes last time out and winner of the Iowa Sprint and the G3 Maryland Sprint Match Series Stakes in the two previous — went 5 furlongs in 1:00.40. That was the bullet move out of 5 to clock the distance. In 21 starts now, this one has a record of 7-2-7 and earnings nearing $500,000. Look out for this one next time out. After all, this one just lot to the likes of Lexitonian and defeated the likes of Whitmore, Firenze Fire and Mischievous Alex. Breeders’ Cup bound? Makes sense.
  4. Etoile, a 5YO daughter of Siyouni and trained by Chad Brown, worked at Saratoga this morning. This one — who is coming off a smart 2nd in the G2 Dance Smartly Stakes at Woodbine on Aug. 22 and won the G1 E.P. Taylor in Canada last October — went 5 furlongs over the turf training track in a time of 1:01.60. That was the bullet move out of two that went that distance over the sod. Another good turf runner in the barn of America’s best turf trainer. Look out.
