We are back looking at the daily workout schedule from around the country. Every day (Some days?), we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country.  We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers.  Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know.  Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.

We are back…Take a look:

  1. Frank’s Rockette, a brilliantly fast 4YO daughter of Into Mischief and trained by HOFer Bill Mott, worked at Belmont Park on Tuesday morn. The multiple Graded Stakes winner — who was 3rd in the Seeking the Pearl Stakes at Colonial Downs in the last out on Aug. 23 — went 4 furlongs in a leisurely :51.74. That was the 19th best time out of 21 to go the distance. This one has raced 5 times this year. Has a 2-1-2 mark and now career earnings that exceed $832,000. Has a few more dances to go, it seems.
  2. Annapolis, a 2YO colt by War Front and trained by Todd Pletcher, won the career debut at Saratoga on Sept. 4. On Tuesday, the youngster got his first published work since the win — going 4 furlongs over the dirt training track at Belmont Park. Went the distance in :48.89 — which was 11th best of 29. This home bred of Bass Stables is out of a Graded Stakes-winning dam, by Unbridled’s Song. The dam won over $600,000 in a 13-race career, which included a win in the G2 Gazelle Stakes. More to come out of this colt. Stakes races soon? Likely.
  3. Weyburn, the 3YO son of Pioneerof the Nile and trained by Jimmy Jerkens, is now prepped and ready for this Saturday’s upcoming G1 Pennsylvania Derby at Parx Racing. Tuned up with a 4-furlong breeze on Tuesday, which charted 4 furlongs in :48.25. That was the 4th best time out of 29 to clock the distance. In 4 starts this year, Weyburn has a win and a second. Ran 4th in the G2 Jim Dandy last time out. Last win came in March in the G3 Gotham Stakes. Will need to step it up and out to make a dent on Saturday. But pedigree suggests he should really like the distance.
