1. Mr. Wireless — This 6YO gelded son of Dialed In has an amazing career in the works for trainer W. Bret Calhoun. This guy has started 17 times in the career with 6 wins, 4 seconds and 3 thirds. He is a multiple Graded Stakes winner — including a win in the G3 Indiana Derby back in 2021 — and has earned over $1.01 million in purses, too. This morn the guy rambled 4 furlongs over the dirt track at the Fair Grounds in a time of :48.60. That was 16th best out of 64 to test the strip. It was the 2nd published work since being returned to serious training on Jan. 22. Probably a few more breezes away, but this one is great to root for, IMO.
2. Scoobie Quando — A 4YO son of Uncle Mo who ran 2nd in the Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park last year, about this time. Ran 9th in the G1 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes and then 11thin the G2 American Turf at Churchill Downs for trainer Ben Colebrook. Was shuttered in early June after a 4thin the Audubon Stakes under the Twin Spires. Got his 3rd published today over the AW surface at Keeneland. Went 4 furlongs in :48.60. That was 2nd best of 6. On the road back.
3. Dornoch — The 3YO son of Good Magic — who won the G2 Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct to close out the 2YO campaign and stamp himself a Kentucky Derby contender — is back on the workout trail. Breezed 4 furlongs this morning at the Palm Meadows Training Center in South Florida. Went in :49.10, which was the 2nd best time out of 25 to clock the distance. It was the 3rd published work since Jan. 22. Look for this one to be ready for action soon for trainer Danny Gargan.
