Every day, we scour the work tabs at racetracks all over the country.  We are looking for workouts that may be of interest and helpful to you — as both race fans and handicappers.  Some of the horses we will be tracking, you will know.  Some of them, you may not know — as of yet.  We will keep a keen eye and stopwatch to see who may be working well:

  1. Bravazo, a 3YO Awesome Again colt owned by Calumet Farm and trained by D. Wayne Lukas, was back on the Churchill Downs main track this morning. The durable dude went 5 furlongs in 1:01.60, which was the bullet move out of 2 to make the distance early today. This guy has raced 10 times this year with a 2-2-2 record, and has faced some of the best and brightest in the industry. He really ran what I would consider a magnificent race in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, finishing third behind City of Light and Seeking the Soul. This may open some real doors for the future.
  2. Emboldened, a 3YO Elusvie Quality filly trained by Bob Baffert, has not run in a race since winning the Angels flight Stakes at Santa Anita on May 12. On Tuesday, though, she got her 8th published work since Sept. 24 at “The Great Race Place.” She went an easy half mile in :48.40, which was the 2nd best time out of the 29 to go the distance. This filly, owned by Godolphin LLC, has raced only three times in her career, with 2 wins and a third. Look for her to be bright when she returns.
  3. Solomini, a 3YO son of Curlin who ran 10th in this year’s KY Derby behind his stablemate Justify, worked at Santa Anita on Tuesday, as well. The colt went a half mile in :48.40, too, for the Team Baffert. Solomini has not run since finishing third in the G3 Affirmed Stakes at Santa Anita on June 10. Tuesday was his third published work since mid-October. It will be good to get this one back to the races soon, too.
