Preakness Graphic

According to a report by Jay Privman of the Daily Racing Form, nine challengers are expected to join Always Dreaming in the Preakness at Pimlico on May 20.

Of the nine horses, four ran in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Hence, Gunnevera, Classic Empire and Lookin’ At Lee, who almost caught Almost Dreaming on Saturday, will all enter the race, according to the report.

Javier Castellano, who rode Gunnevera in the Derby, will step aside in the Preakness. Mike Smith — who rode Girvin on Saturday — will take the mount atop the Antonio Sano trainee.
