Mister T delivers final blow in $100,000 Crown Ambassador

at Horseshoe Indianapolis

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Saturday, October 25, 2025) – Mister T and Mitchell Murrill delivered the final knockout in the 27thrunning of the $100,000 Crown Ambassador as part of Indiana Champions Day at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

A start from post nine did not deter Mister T from getting in the early mix from the starting gate in the six-furlong sprint. Mister T was joined on the inside by Q’s Topnotch and Marcelino Pedroza Jr. with Mr Sledge Hammer and Hannah Leahey on the outside. The top three put open lengths between themselves and the remainder of the field. Around the final turn Mister T was asked for a quicker gear and he responded, taking the top spot at the head of the lane and moving out as the sole leader of the race.

In the stretch, Mister T was determined to get to the wire first. He pinned his ears and dug in gamely all the way to the finish line to win by two and three-quarter lengths over Mr Sledge Hammer. Silver Syon and Joe Ramos closed on the inside for third.

“I got this horse through friendship when I got here this year,” noted Murrill, who is spending his first year full time at Horseshoe Indianapolis. “I got to know Justin (Bailey) and the entire crew and started working this horse in the mornings. I get along very well with him.”

Mister T paid $13.00 for the win. The freshman son of Sahara Sky is a homebred, for the Bailey Family consisting of FK and Justin Bailey. F.K. now owns the colt, who is two for three in his young career. His bankroll improved to $81,000 with his first premier racing victory.

“We kept this mare (Gospel Singer) and raised this colt from her,” noted Bailey. “He has been special from Day One.”

Chaz Rechy has had Mister T in her barn this year and oversees the training duties. She is a longtime trainer and owner in the state and has worked in the win with Mister T isn’t her first premier victory, but it is a well-deserved title for a hard working small I.

“Justin (Bailey) named him Mr. T because he had a perfect T in his markings,” explained Rechy. “Mitch (Murrill) fits this horse like a glove. He told me that the first time he breezed him that he wanted to ride the horse. I was a little worried about him sprinting, but I couldn’t have been more proud of him today.”
