SUNDAY’S MANDATORY RAINBOW 6 AT GULFSTREAM ESTIMATED AT $1.25 MILLION

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park’s mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 Sunday will have an estimated pool of $1.25 million.

The current carryover after Saturday’s 11-race program is $143,020.93.

Race 4: Main track, 6 ½ furlongs, 4-year-olds and up, Claiming $12,500

Mr. Peeks, who ran in the 2023 Florida Derby (G1), drops to the bottom here and gets blinkers. He’s won twice at Gulfstream, but not at the distance. Miguel Vasquez gets the mount. Tshiebwe also takes a drop for trainer Jose Castro while Backonthechaingang cuts back from a mile. Leading rider Samy Camacho gets on Troops who comes in from Tampa and gets blinkers off.

Race 5: Tapeta, 5 ½ furlongs, fillies and mares, Maiden Claimer $25,000

Sonnynpeaches enters off three turf starts for Jose D’Angelo, who is nearly 40 percent when going maiden special weight to maiden claimer. This filly hasn’t hit the board in five starts but was beaten less than four lengths in January by Sweet Ember, who finished second in the Any Limit. Ball Up Top enters off consecutive second-place finishes for a $35,000 tag for trainer Kent Sweezey.

Race 6: Main track, 1 1/6 miles, 3-year-olds and up, Allowance Optional Claimer $62,500

Just six are entered and Grade 2 winner Steal Sunshine comes into the race off a two-month break and after running in four consecutive graded races. He’s won seven races at Gulfstream, but only one of seven at the distance. Alexander Helios returns from a nine-month layoff for Saffie Joseph Jr. after spending 2025 competing in graded races at Churchill Downs, Oaklawn Park and Charles Town. Captain Danny has a win and four seconds in his last five starts for Victor Barboza. Edgard Zayas has the mount.

Race 7: Tapeta, 5 furlongs, fillies and mares, Starter Optional Claimer, $35,000

Happy Ride is fast and might be a single for some, riding a two-race win streak at the distance and surface over fields that include three in this race – Roxy, Musical Design and Vayesta. Drum Roll draws the rail and comes into the race off a 4 ½ length victory against cheaper for trainer Carlos David, who is hitting at nearly 30 percent this summer.

Race 8: Main track, 6 ½ furlongs, fillies and mares, Allowance $65,000

It’s Only Words, Frosty Belle and Flowko will vie for favoritism. Flowko was distanced last time out by graded winner Mythical and has just one win with three seconds and three thirds, while Frosty Belle beat lesser by six last time out. It’s Only Words has placed in 16 of 21 starts, including six wins.

Race 9: Tapeta, 5 ½ furlongs, fillies and mares, Maiden Claimer, $12,500

The Rainbow 6 concludes with a wide-open field of 10. Lightly raced Ghostlight drops in company from $35,000 for trainer Joseph for the first time. Joseph is 25-percent with first timers. Camacho rides Chefeta who made her first three starts at a mile on the turf at Tampa for Chad Stewart. Kiss Me for Luck is coming off five consecutive turf races at a mile.

In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Vasquez, Camacho, Husbands Win Three Each

Three jockeys won nine of Saturday’s 11 races.

Jockeys Miguel Vasquez, Micah Husbands and Samy Camacho each rode three winners Saturday. Vasquez rode One More Dude ($7) to victory in the first, Brother Brad ($8.20) to win the seventh and Sweet Dream Lady ($5.40) to win the ninth. Camacho won aboard Cuddle the Kitten ($7.40) in the second, Commendatore ($5.40) in the fourth and Victory Achieves ($15.60) in the 10th. Meanwhile, Husbands won Race 3 with Horsing Around ($4.60), Race 6 with If Not for Luck ($6.60) and Race 11 with Fly Erik Fly ($4.60).
